i have been spending a week of recharging with my best friend, ms. stephanie, here in Baltimore city. we've done everything that our souls have wanted. our routine was wonderful. it is easy to forget how comforting it is to have a few daily tasks you accomplish everyday. ours included early morning gym and tea time, evening yoga & some kind of delicious meal mixed in between. the rest we filled in with exploring. the cream of the crop for our week of eating was not Friendly's (although steph's first visit was epic) but Woodberry Kitchen . this organic farm to table restaurant blew us away. we had a non-vegan brunch of mint tea, ricotta cranberry "pan-cake" and veggy flatbread. we were speech-less - which for us is rare. the beauty of this place is that everything is cooked in their wood-burning stove on iron skillets giving the best chargrilled smokey taste to everything. everything on the menu comes from local farms in Virginia & Maryland. major bonus: the live jazz duo next to our table. it's obvious why they are always packed.
